4-day trip
“Divine gourmandizing in Tuscany!”

Descend into centuries-old monastery wine cellars, sip sublime wines from the Antinori family, feast in a Michelin star Osteria, participate in master cooking class, soak up culture in Florence, cut the meat of the best butcher in the world and hunt for “the black gold” with a “stray dog.”

DAY 1

Saturday, a refined start…

Flight Eindhoven-Pisa. 9h55-11h35.

Nice transfer of 85 km to the Chianti. Check in in an attractive Agriturismo between the vineyards. Light lunch.

17h00, transfer to a monastery inaccessible to others. (3 ½ km) Informative walk through the vineyards of the Antinori family and visit to the monastery cellar where the wines have been aged for centuries.

Wine tasting followed by a refined tasting dinner with wine pairing in an Osteria next to the monastery, which “accidentally” received a Michelin star.

Transfer back and overnight in the Agriturismo.

DAY 2

Sunday, la dolce vita and culture…

09h00, breakfast.

After breakfast, enjoy “la dolce vita” with a traditional Italian Cooking Class in an annex of the Agriturismo followed by a partly self-prepared lunch in the garden with a view over the rolling Tuscan hills.

In the afternoon, soak up culture in Florence. (37 km)

Dinner in the best Trattoria in Florence.

Transfer back and overnight in the Agriturismo.

DAY 3

Monday, “carne diem”…

08h30, breakfast.

9h15, transfer to a “pleasantly deranged” perfectionist from the eighth generation of a butcher’s family, 12 km away.
His signature hangs on top restaurants around the world.

The wonderful day begins with a 4-wheel-drive safari to his Chianina ranch, where the cattle graze merrily. Followed by a walk through the beautiful valley.

A master butcher then gives us the lecture “butcher for a day” with cutting demonstrations in which we actively participate. Lunch specialty of the butcher shop: Sushi del Chianti.

At 14h30 returning to the Agriturismo and the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

At 19h30 an unprecedented grilling sensation awaits us at the butcher’s shop, which we are on top of: a varied signature menu of the juicy and tender red meat of his very best cattle. The Chianti wine also flows freely. Simple but divine.

Overnight in the Agriturismo.

DAY 4

Tuesday, on the hunt for “the black gold”…

7h30, breakfast.

08h15, transfer to a private domain where the truffles are for the taking. At least if you have the right nose for it. (73 km)

A stray dog lookalike and truffle hunter accompany us.

A little later we smell the most precious fungi, freshly found.

After the pleasant and informative forest walk, we help with our truffle brunch, in a hunter’s cottage in the valley.

Further information:

The trip is ideal for both men and women, united or separately.

Availability of flights, accommodation, restaurants, Frans Kriesels etc. is limited. Booking a few months in advance is therefore recommended.

Due to the favorable flight times Eindhoven-Pisa v.v. with Ryanair, we recommend from Saturday to Tuesday. Traveling on other days is also possible, but this makes the program more limited or the trip one day longer.

You can also fly from Amsterdam or Brussels Charleroi. Let us know your preference and we will send you the flight proposal.

We can also offer private flight charters.

As soon as we request the flights on the desired date, we will see the actual flight price. This may possibly be higher than the amount included in the quotation. That is why it says “price indication” below the quotation.

In the offer we assume a stay in Classic Rooms. Additional costs for other room and suite categories on request. In the event of no or insufficient availability of Classic Rooms, we will offer the next available rooms/suites categories.

Due to narrow streets and accessibility, transfers are carried out in luxury minibuses of the Mercedes Viano type, as many as are necessary for the number of participants.

We request that everyone travel with hand luggage only, so that we do not lose time waiting for luggage.

We are among each other and the clothing advice is casual to smart casual. The walks through the vineyards, valleys and truffle estate can be muddy. It is therefore recommended to bring outdoor shoes.
